It looks like the trouble is going to only increase for Michael Vaughan. The former England cricketer has always been in the limelight, mostly for his scathing remarks against the Indian team. A few weeks ago, Azeem Rafiq raised the issue of racism and claimed that he was the victim of racial slurs from Michael Vaughan. Pakistani cricketer Rana Naved-ul- Hasan too confirmed the allegations that were directed against Michael Vaughan.

Seeing the allegations, the BBC dropped Michael Vaughan from their ‘The Tuffers and Vaughan Cricket Show which was being hosted for the last twelve years. Vaughan although admitted that his name was in the investigation report but “completely and categorically” denied the allegations.

In a double blow to Michael Vaughan, now another cricketer has come forward to speak about the case and it seems that the statement is certainly not in the favour of former England captain According to Adil Rashid, he heard Michael Vaughan question the number of players of Asian heritage in the Yorkshire side during 2009 incident.

Adil Rashid has been with the England team for a long time and his confirmation of the slur as alleged in the claims of Azeem Rafeeq is likely to carry some weightage since he is also the third member of the Yorkshire county to confirm the events.

Considering it as a matter of sensitive nature, Rashid has asked for privacy on it in order to focus more on cricket. Speaking to The Cricketer, the leg spinner commented “”I wanted to concentrate as much as possible on my cricket and to avoid distractions to the detriment of the team but I can confirm Azeem Rafiq’s recollection of Michael Vaughan’s comments to a group of us Asian players.”
