The fastest bowler in the world and Dr. Nauman Niaz have come to reconciliation after minister Fawad Chaudhary intervened. The matter came to the limelight during a live show where a heated exchange happened between the two, prompting a resignation from the speedster then and there itself. After the minister’s mediation, the dust seems to be settled now.
There has been a significant development in the matter related to Shoaib Akhtar and Dr. Nauman Niaz’s ugly incident which happened in front of legends like Sir Vivian Richard and David Gower. While sharing his thoughts on Shaheen Shah Afridi, Dr. Nauman tells Shoaib that he is being rude and offers him to leave the show if he wants. Shoaib then decided to offer his resignation on the live show to PTV sports.
Now according to a tweet by PTV News, both the parties have calmed down after the minister called both of them to his residence and helped to settle the differences. Dr. Nauman Niaz had earlier offered an apology to Shoaib on different channels. While Shoaib was reluctant to accept an apology earlier, has now accepted it.
According to dawn, Dr. Niaz publicly apologized in the video and stated “Shoaib Akhtar, I am extremely sorry for whatever happened on screen. It shouldn’t have happened, for the reason that [we] have a 30-year-long friendship and that shouldn’t go down”
Akhtar too then replied in the video saying “It’s fine. He (Niaz) said it, he said it. He should have said it a long time ago”. Dr. Nauman then patting the speedster says “it’s never too late”. Shoaib then confirmed the reconciliation with his friend of more than 30 years saying that the incident was unpleasant and hurted his sentiments but now he is taking the higher moral ground and accepting the apology.
Following the incident, PTV launched an enquiry and filed a defamation case to which the speedster replied that he will fight the case hard with the help of his lawyer. When dawn asked Dr Niaz whether PTV would retract the defamation case against Shoaib, he answered that the decision is upto PTV to make after their own evaluation.
