Aus players refuse to play in Pak: PSL management to Rameez Raja

Rameez Raja had a discussion recently with the PCB’s franchises. While there were many points that were discussed, including the salary cap, the matter turned heated when the PCB chairman expressed anger for the non-participation of Australian players in PSL.

The newly elected PCB chairman asked the franchises to increase their salary purse from $0.95 million to $1.2 million, which did not appeal to the franchise owners. As quoted by a Pakistani news online portal, Rameez expressed anger due to the non-participation of Australian players like Maxwell in PSL. According to the PCB chairman, it is the only way of attracting top talent in the league, which has injected much-needed financial assistance to the depleted board.

According to the source, the PCB chief called them “intruders” who have ” ..destroyed windows and doors of our house.”. In response to that, Nadeem Omer, the owner of Quetta Gladiators replied that six successful seasons of PSL have been conducted and that the league exists because of the franchises. Quoting the source “We are the investors of the league,” he said. “We have six successful seasons of the league and it is our home”

Upon being pressed on the question of why Australian players like Maxwell refuse to participate in the PSL, Imran Ahmed Khan, the member of the accusation and management committee, replied that they have invited them many times but have refused to play in Pakistan.

Quoting the source “We have invited them many times, but they refuse to play in Pakistan,” he replies.”
