England was expected to put on a fight in the third Ashes Test. However, after a spirited performance from Jimmy Anderson, the England batting lineup crumbled on the Day 2 evening and couldn’t even cross the follow on and lost their last six wickets for 22 runs, an innings defeat by some margin.
Wasim Jaffer known for his sarcastic and hilarious tweets took a shot at Michael Vaughan who commented about India getting out on 92. The fourth ODI match between India and New Zealand in 2019 saw the visitors crumble to 92 runs. Vaughan tweeted that it is hard for any team to get out under 100 these days.
England suffered to a humiliating defeat, their ninth loss in this year. Earlier in 2001, they were hammered by India in India by 3- 1, lost to New Zealand in the home series, are trailing by 2 -1 against India in the home series, and now have lost the Ashes within the 12 days of the series.
Vaughan replied back to Wasim Jaffer and said “Very Good Wasim”
Michael Vaughan is known for his harsh comments on India Cricket. He termed the Ahmedabad pitch as “AWful” when England were crushed on a rank turner by India’s spin. As sarcasm, he posed a picture of himself batting on a uneven pitch when England were touring India earlier this year.
After the match got over, Vaughan tweeted that England were nowhere near good as Australians and praised the 32-year debutant Scott Boland for his six wickets, “England nowhere near good enough .. they will know that .. but seeing a 32 yr old on debut on his home turf with the Crowd going berserk is what makes Sport so special .. Well done Australia .. Far too good for England”. The fourth and fifth test match will be played in Sydney and Hobart.
