Kohli to return to his usual avatar, feels coach Rajkumar

It was on 23rd November 2019 that Virat Kohli scored his last test century. Since then the player has shown his usual form in patches. It cannot be denied that the last few months have been difficult for Virat Kohli. Disappointment for not winning an ICC tournament under his ODI captainship and the pain of getting evicted from the World Cup got only exaggerated when he was removed from the ODI captainship on the 8th of December by the BCCI.

Speculations have come regarding BCCI sources and Virat Kohli which highlighted the communication gap and the resentment between the two parties but now that the dust is settled and Kohli relieved of some of the leadership roles, it is likely that he may return to his usual avatar of scoring runs consistently, if not big hundreds.

Rajkumar Sharma, Kohli’s childhood coach opines that the former ODI captain is likely to return to his usual form and that Team India has the best chance of conquering the final frontier of South Africa. India has been touring South Africa since 1991 and the Boxing Day test will also mark the 30th anniversary between the two sides.

Virat Kohli will also play his 100th Test match on this tour. Kohli till now has played 97 test matches and has scored 7801 runs at an average of 50.66. Often touted as the player who will break Sachin’s record of 100 centuries in International arena, Kohli is now behind Sachin’s record by only 30 centuries.
