New Zealand has confirmed that they will be touring Pakistan next year. Ramiz Raja expressed disappointment when Zealand earlier this year, abandoned the tour hours before the first ODI in Rawalpindi, citing security threats given by the government.
New Zealand will tour Pakistan in December for two test match series and will return in April to play five ODIS and the same no. of T20s. David White, the CEO of NZC confirmed the tours “Our respective chairmen, Ramiz Raja and Martin Snedden, had very fruitful and constructive discussions while in Dubai, further strengthening the bond between the two organizations,”
NewZealand had to bear plenty of criticism not only from the fans in Pakistan but also from the Pakistan Cricket Board but the relations have restored to normal after the talks in Dubai. After New Zealand, England too abandoned the tour citing the same reason and Ramiz said that Pakistan cricket was used and binned by the Western block. The relationship became so sour that ECB’s CEO had to come to Pakistan. England then announced that they will make up by playing two additional T20s in Pakistan.
Ramiz Raja said, “I am pleased with the outcomes of our discussions and negotiations, and thank Martin Snedden and his board for their understanding and support,”
