Rishabh Pant appointed as Ambassador of Uttarakhand


Rishabh Pant has made serious progress in International cricket in the last two years. While the keeper-batsman was backed heavily by the team due to his talent, he has yielded few noteworthy performances especially during India’s tour of Australia in 2018-19 and also in 2020 – 21 when India won the famous victory at Gabba.

Now the Uttarakhand government has made Rishabh Pant the brand ambassador of the state in order to encourage the youth towards sports and public health. The chief minister of the state announced on Twitter, “One of the best cricket players in India, the idol of youth and Lal Shri Rishabh Pant has been appointed by our government as “State Brand Ambassador” with the aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health.”

Pant is known for his fearless batting and garnered mass attention when he played a reverse sweep against the like of James Anderson. The shot was lauded by the cricketing fraternity as it displayed the immense courage of the young wicket-keeper batsman.

The player is currently in South Africa to take part in the Test and ODI series. India is eyeing their first test series win in South Africa and former players that India have the best chance this time. India in 2018 provided challenges to the South Africans but lost the test series by 2 -1. Pant in his 18 tests till now has scored 2289 runs with three centuries and seven fifties at an average of 39.72

He has been with the Delhi Capitals since 2016 and will be leading the side in the IPL 2022. The player was retained as he captained of Delhi Capitals for a mammoth Rs 16 crore.
