VVS Laxman likely to be the next NCA Director

After serving NCA for nearly two years, Rahul Dravid has now been appointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. His contract will be for two years. Ever since his appointment as head coach, there have been questions about the one who will replace him as the NCA director.

A leading sports website has published that VVS Laxman is in talks with the BCCI for his role in NCA equivalent to that of Dravid’s. If Laxman will be appointed as the director of NCA, he will have to give up his commentary as well as mentorship job for Sunrisers Hyderabad in order to avoid conflict of interest issues.

Laxman, who is famous for his 281 knock against the Aussies, is a resident of Hyderabad, whereas the NCA is headquartered at Bengaluru. If he is appointed in some capacity with the NCA, he would have to shift from his hometown.

Under Dravid’s coaching, many U-19 players have emerged in the last 3 years. Ganguly at the time of appointing Dravid as the head coach praised heaps on the work of Dravid at the grass-root level at NCA which has polished many youngsters.
