It seems that the turmoil in the Indian camp is not fizzling out at the moment. Several former cricketers voiced their opinion on the ongoing speculations about Virat not wanting to participate in the SA ODI tour. Now Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports has said that “Nobody Is Bigger Than Sport” and that he “can’t give information to whats going on.”

It is very likely that Anurag Thakur may have exact up-to-date knowledge of what is going on between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit will be missing the test series due to a hamstring injury. Virat Kohli will be available in the mandatory pre-tour press conference along with Rahul Dravid. Earlier there were reports that the former captain was wanting to be with family for his daughter’s birthday which is why he wants to skip the ODI leg of the SA tour.

Reacting to speculations, Pakistani ex-cricketer Salman butt said that birthdays are not the reason that one should skip the national duties and that there are other reasons why Kohli does not want to be part of ODI tour where he will have to play under the new ODI captain Rohit Sharma.

Mohammad Azharuddin, the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association earlier tweeted that the timing of speculations is not good and that it only reflects the drift in the team.

Earlier, there was a report of a BCCI official who agreed to the rift between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and termed the reaction given by Kohli as ‘selfish.’ But now reports are coming that the intervention of Sourav Ganguly might make Virat Kohli to participate. India’s south Africa series will get underway from the 26th of December at Supersport Park at Centurion.
