Australia has had a dream start to their Ashes 2021 campaign. The luck has certainly gone their way on multiple occasions and the home team is now looking favourites to win the 1st test match. Australia finished the Day 2 on 343 for seven and are diminishing England’s chances to come back into the game.

Australia’s luck in this test match

Not winning the toss and being made to bowl on a wicket which turned out seamer-friendly

Not getting to bat due to rain and wet outfield after England were bowled out for 147 runs. Nearly forty overs were remaining on Day 1.

Coming out to bat in warm conditions with bright sunshine, perfect for batting on Day 2.

Warner’s survival on no-ball and drop catch

Warner while speaking to Fox Cricket praised England bowlers for their relentless bowling. “They did bowl well, didn’t they? They were relentless,”The southpaw also spoke of the tough competition between Travis Head and Usman Khawaja and how the left-hander has proved his selection with the hundred.

Warner admitted that he got some luck in this test match but also said that when a batsman is out of form, he deserves some luck. In his own words, “Everyone was talking about my form in the T20 stuff but when you’re out of runs you deserve some luck.” The batsman was unable to score a hundred but his 94 innings and Travis head’s century has put the home side in a dominating position.

Waner has had phenomenal innings in recent. The batsman scored crucial runs for the team in Australia’s semis and finals in the T20 World cup. And now the batsman has set the tone with his 94 and will look to make the most of the confidence from this innings.

England’s Ben Stokes may have suffered an injury as the bowler did not bowl freely and even bowled from short run-ups which was likely done in order to avoid further injury.
