I am more ‘disappointed’ than people: Hasan Ali

Days after Pakistan lost the semi-final against the Australians, Hasan Ali has now tweeted that he feels more disappointed than the fans. The match hung in the delicate balance when Shaheeh Shah Afridi came into the bowl in the 19th over with Australia needing 22 runs off the last two overs.

While the pacer conceded three sixes which ultimately close the curtains for the Pakistanis, he was dropped off by Hasan Ali. The right-arm medium pacer was unable to grab a running catch which not only cost the wicket but also allowed the batsman to take doubles, therefore allowing the in-form Wade to be back on strike.

Soon after the game was over, the fans took to Hasan Ali and blamed him as the culprit. However, many former cricketing players including Waqar Younis defended the right arm pacer and questioned the type of bowling from Shaheen Shah Afridi for those three sixes. Even Shaheed Afridi, who is going to be father-in-law questioned the line and length and said that Shaheen is not a bowler who could go for three sixes easily.

Now the Pakistani right-arm pacer has tweeted that the fans may be disappointed but not more than him. He urged the fans to continue to support him and that he will work harder through the rough patch he is facing now.

Shoaib Akhtar believed that while Hasan Ali was over-used, Babar Azam fumbled as a captain in the crucial stages of the match. According to him, Pakistan should have scored in excess of 200 and that their run-rate was slower from 6th to 10th over.
