BCCI to form “Differently abled cricket committee”

During the BCCI’s AGM, the board has passed a resolution for the formation of a committee related to differently-abled cricketers. The differently-abled players include the ones who have visual challenges, are hearing impaired, and have physical limitations.

Differently-abled cricket players have welcomed the decision. Now it might be soon that the differently-abled Indian cricketers will be able to sport the BCCI logo. Earlier this year, many groups running cricket committees related to the differently-abled came together to form a new group called the Differently-abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI). The group was formed registered under the Karnataka societies registration Act.

Earlier, Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary said that the board was eager to help the differently-abled cricketers of the country. Differently-abled cricket popularity has been on the rise and BCCI being the richest cricket board in the world has all the resources to popularize the game on a bigger level. The BCCI as a good gesture invited members of the DCCI to the opening ceremony of the 2021 IPL in Chennai and therefore.

Tennis is one of the popular sports where differently-abled players are now playing at an international level and its popularity is increasing year after year. It would be one of the proudest days for Indians if the differently-abled team under the BCCI would be able to equate success with the men’s team. Bearing the BCCI logo will certainly help the special players’ team to receive better resources, facilities, sponsorship, and a paycheck.

There may be news soon too about Rahane’s future as vice-captain of the Indian cricket team. There have been speculations about the current form of the middle-order batsman. India’s next campaign will be the India-South Africa series where they will engage in three Tests and three ODIs. The team will play the originally planned T20s sometime later this year.
