Its very unlikely that we don’t get to hear Michael’s Vaughan prediction, that too before the start of the Ashes tour. The former captain who remains in the news for one or the other reason has now termed the Australians as a favourite to win the Ashes this time. Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes that Australia is the clear favourites for this Ashes if England does not survive at the first test match.
He however believed that the story could be different if England survives or win the first test match. Brisbane, Gabba will be hosting the first test match of the Ashes from 8th December. The former England skipper believes that the fate will be pretty much the same as the last Ashes tour to Australia if they do not win or survive in the 1st test match of the series.
England has yet to announce their squad for the first game as they are still contemplating the selection eleven depending on the weather and pitch. Gabba has recently received plenty of rainfall which did not allow the English players to practice.
Australia’s David Warner will be looking to revenge Stuart Broad this time. The star batsman has coming of good form from the T20 World cup and will be keen to make the most of the home advantages. Warner had a nightmare with Stuart Broad in 2019 Ashes as the bowler got him out for seven times, including four ducks.
The fifth test match which was scheduled to be hosted at Perth will now be played at a different venue, Hobart most likely. The strict quarantine rules for Covid 19 set by Western Australia compelled Cricket Australia to axe Perth from the last test match.
