After a lot of speculation and the effort of the CSA officials, the tour is finally taking place. Earlier, the Indian team were to depart from South Africa on the 8th or 9th of December. But now they are likely to depart on the 15th or 16th of December and will possibly spend a week in Quarantine in South Africa.

CSA has been desperate to not let go of the Indian team coming because of the Omicron variant. There were reports that Gramme Smith’s friendship with BCCI’s Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah has paved the way for this marquee tour for CSA which will earn them a revenue of nearly R700 million. Indian Cricket fans have been wanting to win their team the first maiden test series. The last time India went to South Africa, they were able to clinch the T20 and ODI series easily.
