The semi-final match between Pakistan and Australia turned to one hell of a game with Australia winning by an over to spare. The match looked very much in favour of the Pakistanis until the last four balls of the game. Hasan Ali dropped a catch of Matthew Wade in deep and Shaheen Shah Afridi then went for three consecutive sixes which ultimately sealed the victory for the Australians.
While some news channels in Pakistan have criticised the drop catch by Hasan Ali, now Shahid Afridi is seen defending the right-arm pacer. Speaking t Samaa TV, Afridi pointed that the dropped catch did not mean the end of the world, however, Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled the next three balls poorly which costed the team.
It is worth noting that the left-arm pacer is soon going to be son in law of Shahid Afridi. Afridi’s daughter is engaged to Shaheen Shah Afridi and the duo will get married very soon. When Babar Azam was asked about the turning point of the match in the presentation, he pointed the dropped catch by Hasan Ali. The captain believes that had the catch been taken, it would have got difficult for the new batters.
Afridi pointed out that the pace Shaheen has got, he should have bowled a bit outside to the off stump to Matthew Wade. The former captain mentioned that this will be a good learning lesson for Shaheen Shah Afridi.
