India has completely dominated Newzealand in the second test match at the Wankhede stadium. After winning the toss and deciding to bat, Mayank Agrawal score a dominant 150 runs which propelled India to a significant score of 325 runs.

Then the bowlers came into play and after Mohammad Siraj’s initial burst, Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin did the damage and restricted the WTC winners to mere 62 runs.

India finished the second day on 69 for no loss having now amassed a lead of 332 runs and is looking to post a monumental score in order to completely eliminate any chance for Newzealand to come back into the test match.

The star batsman of India was Mayank Agarwal in the first innings while every other Indian batter looked in some trouble against Ajaz Patel.  The right-handed opening batsman who has a phenomenal track record in India’s domestic fixtures batted comfortably against the left-arm spinner who has become the first New Zealander and only the third Cricketer to take 10 wickets in an innings after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble.

Now Murali Kartik has given his opinion on why the opening batsman has been so successful against the spinners of New Zealand. In his own words

“He is actually a Nightmare for the spinners because he loves to use his feet and sometimes play downtown, sometimes he hits it over the top and then he tries to cut the ball and uses the depth of the crease. You need to have a game plan like that and then that semi-sweep shot which is not very short Keeping his back leg and plays that sweep. So it’s a Nightmare for any spinner”

The pitch has been far from for any batsman as seen not only in the Newzealand collapse but also from the Indian batting side where no one other than Mayank Agarwal was able to score freely.
