Team India will be bringing three players in place of Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravindra Jadeja. In an official update by BCCI, the board has confirmed that fast bowler Ishant Sharma dislocated his left little finger during the final day of the 1st Test match in Kanpur. He is thus ruled out of the 2nd Test in Mumbai. The BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor his progress.
BCCI released the information on their official Twitter handle
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja suffered a right forearm injury during the 1st Test match in Kanpur. After undergoing scans, he was diagnosed with a swelling on his forearm. He has been advised to rest and is thus ruled out of the 2nd Test in Mumbai.
Ajinkya Rahane sustained a minor left hamstring strain while fielding on the final day of the 1st Test match in Kanpur. Since he has not recovered completely, he has been ruled out of the 2nd Test in Mumbai. His progress will be closely monitored by the BCCI Medical team.
The match has been delayed by 1 hour now due to wet areas. Wankhede has received unexpected non-stop rains for the last two days, however, the current scenario brings good news as the sky is clear and the toss is likely to start at 10.30 a.m. IST. According to Simon Doull, Kane Williamson may not play in the second test match against India due to an elbow problem acting up.
