Australia has won the T20 WC in Dubai against the Kiwis. Sending the Blackcaps into batting first, the Aussies were up against a difficult target of 172. Finch got a brisk start but fell cheaply to Boult. However, the momentum of the game only swung towards the Aussies with the arrival of Mitch Marsh and some terrific batting from David Warner.

Speaking to the host broadcaster, Laxman backed India to win the next T20 WC. Elaborating that the Indian team wasn’t able to win their crucial matches in the T20 WC, Laxman says that India has the potential and is an exciting side to watch out for. He believes that India will follow a template of playing with aggressive intent, just like they did in the last three matches of the WC against Scotland, Namibia, and Aghanistan.

Laxman has been appointed as the new director of the NCA. The former wristy player known for his 281 Not out in Eden Garden will shift to Bangalore from his Hyderabad hometown. The next WC will be played in Australia in October. India will look to move on with their home series coming up against the black caps from 17th November 2021.
